Who we are

Kassette is a small team based in India that makes handcrafted custom cassettes. When we say "we" or "us" in this policy, we mean the Kassette team.

What we collect

When you place an order or reserve a kassette, we collect:

• Your name
• Email address
• WhatsApp number
• Shipping address (collected via Razorpay or WhatsApp)
• Song choices and personal messages you share with us on WhatsApp
• Payment information (processed by Razorpay, we do not store card details)

How we use it

We use your information to:

• Make and deliver your kassette
• Contact you on WhatsApp about your order (songs, design preview, shipping updates)
• Send order confirmation and shipping emails
• Improve our product based on what customers tell us

We do not sell your data. We do not run targeted ads using your data. We do not share your information with third parties except as needed to fulfill your order (payment via Razorpay, shipping via courier partners).

Personal messages

The personal messages you write for your kassette are private. We print them inside the case and do not share, publish, or use them for any other purpose. We delete your personal message from our records 6 months after your order is delivered.

How long we keep it

We keep your order information (name, email, WhatsApp, shipping address) for up to 12 months after delivery for customer support and warranty purposes. Personal messages are deleted 6 months after delivery. Spotify playlist links and song choices are kept indefinitely so we can maintain your QR code link. You can request deletion at any time. Payment records are retained as required by Indian tax law.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
• Withdraw consent for WhatsApp communication at any time

Third parties

• Razorpay processes payments. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Resend sends our emails. They process your email address on our behalf.
• Google Sheets stores order records (access restricted to team members only).
• Shipping partners (Delhivery, Shiprocket, India Post) receive your shipping address to deliver your kassette.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies or analytics cookies. We may use essential cookies required for the website to function (e.g., payment session).
