Privacy Policy

Who we are

Kassette is a small team based in India that makes handcrafted custom cassettes. When we say "we" or "us" in this policy, we mean the Kassette team.

What we collect

When you place an order or reserve a kassette, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • WhatsApp number
  • Shipping address (collected via Razorpay or WhatsApp)
  • Song choices and personal messages you share with us on WhatsApp
  • Payment information (processed by Razorpay, we do not store card details)

How we use it

We use your information to:

  • Make and deliver your kassette
  • Contact you on WhatsApp about your order (songs, design preview, shipping updates)
  • Send order confirmation and shipping emails
  • Improve our product based on what customers tell us

We do not sell your data. We share information with service providers as described below to fulfill orders and, if you consent, with Meta for measurement and advertising purposes.

Meta measurement

The Meta Pixel loads only after you affirmatively consent to analytics cookies. Once allowed, we send Meta events about pages and products you view (PageView and ViewContent), cart changes (AddToCart and RemoveFromCart), checkout (InitiateCheckout), completed purchases (Purchase), and when you choose to open WhatsApp (Contact).

We also send custom PaymentOpened, PaymentDismissed, and PaymentFailed events. Payment events include value and currency; PaymentOpened can include quantity and express shipping selection, while PaymentFailed includes only a generic failure category rather than the payment provider's detailed error.

Depending on the event, this can include product identifiers, quantity, whether express shipping was selected, order or cart value, currency, and the Meta browser identifiers _fbp and _fbc. We use these events for attribution, aggregate analytics, creating audiences, and ad optimization.

When the Pixel loads, Meta may also receive ordinary browser, page, device, and network context associated with a web request, such as the page URL, browser or device information, IP address, referrer, and time. This list is not exhaustive. For a verified purchase, our server uses the Razorpay order ID as the event ID and the confirmation page URL as the event source, together with the purchase details described above.

We do not send your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, shipping address, pincode, card number or payment credentials, personal messages, photos, playlists, or songs to Meta.

You can withdraw this analytics consent through Cookie settings. This stops future browser Pixel events and attempts to clear Meta cookies, but it does not affect events already sent. A server-side Purchase event may still be sent after withdrawal for an order whose advertising consent was recorded when checkout began. Analytics consent is separate from your consent to place an order and separate from your consent to order-related WhatsApp communication.

Personal messages

The personal messages you write for your kassette are private. We print them inside the case and do not share, publish, or use them for any other purpose. We delete your personal message from our records 6 months after your order is delivered.

How long we keep it

We keep your order information (name, email, WhatsApp, shipping address) for up to 12 months after delivery for customer support and warranty purposes. Personal messages are deleted 6 months after delivery. Spotify playlist links and song choices are kept indefinitely so we can maintain your QR code link. You can request deletion at any time. Payment records are retained as required by Indian tax law.

Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Withdraw consent for WhatsApp communication at any time

Third parties

  • Razorpay processes payments. Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
  • Resend sends our emails. They process your email address on our behalf.
  • Google Sheets stores order records (access restricted to team members only).
  • Shipping partners (Delhivery, Shiprocket, India Post) receive your shipping address to deliver your kassette.
  • Meta receives the measurement data described above based on your affirmative advertising consent, including the checkout-time consent used for server Purchase reporting.
  • Vercel Analytics collects website usage data independently of Meta consent. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.

Cookies

We use essential cookies required for the website to function (for example, payment sessions). If you affirmatively allow analytics, the Meta Pixel may also set or read _fbp and _fbc.
